I’m Grey, a Licensed Practical Nurse providing overnight and daytime in-home care across the Avalon Peninsula.

This practice is built around the reality of early parenthood and family life with young children, where recovery, sleep disruption, illness, and ongoing care needs directly impact a household’s ability to function.

Care is provided in the home, within professional nursing standards, with a focus on consistency, safety, and practical, real-life application.

Overnight Care

Overnight care is delivered in the home in 8-hour shifts.

This is used by families who are:

  • recovering after birth, surgery, or illness

  • managing ongoing sleep disruption or exhaustion

  • parenting alone overnight

  • balancing multiple young children

  • living with chronic pain, fatigue, or health conditions

  • working demanding or shift-based schedules

There are various reasons families reach out.

Care is provided for newborns, infants, and children up to age four, including those with additional or more complex needs.

What Happens Overnight

During the night, the home remains quiet while care continues.

I remain awake and continuously observing, assessing, and responding as needed to your child.

Feeding, settling, diapering, and established routines are maintained so the environment remains consistent.

Ongoing observation includes feeding patterns, breathing, colour, comfort, and changes in behaviour.

Most nights are straightforward. If something changes, it is recognized early and responded to appropriately.

The goal is a full stretch of uninterrupted rest for the caregiver while care is maintained.

Daytime Care

Daytime care is available for families requiring structured, in-home support during the day.

This may include newborn care, feeding support, observation, and practical assistance while the caregiver rests, attends appointments, or manages other responsibilities.

Care is adjusted based on the needs of the household and the current stage of recovery or demand.

Available in 2-hour and 4-hour blocks.

Feeding and Parent Education

Feeding support and parent education are integrated into care.

This includes breastfeeding support, latch and positioning, pumping, bottle feeding, and guidance through common challenges.

Education is based on direct observation and real-time response, supporting informed decision-making and confidence in day-to-day care.

This model of care supports:

  • physical recovery

  • mental health stability

  • cognitive function and decision-making

  • safe caregiving

  • overall household function
